Kapost is a venture-backed start-up that provides online newsrooms to help web publishers to manage their content production process. Lots more information available at Kapost.com.
The Kapost Marketing / Sales Manager will work to acquire more publisher customers for Kapost. This will be the first position in the company fully-dedicated to sales and marketing. Within Kapost’s start-up operation, this job will have broad responsibility and will work on all components of sales and marketing, from PR and branding, to website ans social media, to designing and implementing acquisition campaigns. Furthermore, this job will have wide visibility into all of the company’s operations, providing great exposure to entrepreneurship.
This job is based in beautiful Boulder, Colorado.
Responsibilities
Kapost is ramping up its customer acquisition activities and this job includes work in all aspects, including:
- social media marketing
- customer acquisition campaigns (email, closing prospects, etc.)
- PR
- collateral development (website, videos)
- conference & event planning
- customer support
- sales & marketing analysis (e.g. measuring campaign performance)
- competitive analysis
This position will work directly with the company’s founders / management team.
Requirements
More than anything, this job requires a desire to achieve and a desire to make things happen. Start-ups are exciting because you create a business from nothing, and as we grow our sales & marketing operation, this job will be in the center of that action. At the same time, there will be no employment manual to assist you; you have to be comfortable to enjoy figuring out challenges on your own and the thrill of having carved your own path of success every day. We measure our success by how many customers and how much revenue we earn; you must have a strong desire to personally push those metrics forward.
Additional desirable experience and skills for the job include:
- prior sales and marketing experience
- in particular, prior social media marketing experience
- exposure to the world of publishing & blogs
- an interest in internet technology and applications
